Nivaran Foundation was founded by Mukesh Thakur after witnessing how geography, poverty, and delayed access to care combine to push rural families out of the health system altogether. The organization's early direction was shaped by a simple operating question: how do you bring real services closer to communities that are routinely left too far from first-contact care?
That founder context still matters publicly. It gives partners, donors, and journalists a named leadership reference behind the mission, instead of an anonymous origin story. Nivaran's public governance and leadership directory now makes that institutional responsibility visible.

Nivaran Foundation was established by an individual who witnessed firsthand the devastating healthcare gaps in rural Nepal. Driven by the belief that healthcare is a right — not a privilege — our founder established Nivaran as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to create lasting, measurable change through community health camps and education programs.
